Harlequins' Mike Brown has been voted the Aviva Premiership Player of the Month for December. Brown has been in fantastic form, making the decision easy for the panel of rugby media that included writers, broadcasters, and photographers.

"Mike has reinvented himself this year and turned himself into a world class player who we believe will deservedly make his Test debut in this year's RBS 6 Nations," said Paul Morgan.

"He exemplifies the reasons why Harlequins sit on top of the Aviva Premiership Rugby table and the award is our way or showing how impressed we have been with Mike's form."

Would you stick with Ben Foden for England, or give Brown a lengthy Six Nations opportunity?

Yeah, good point, forgot about "Bendy" - who, by the way, has 2 England caps, if you'll pardon the pedantry. Surprised he hasn't had more.

England do seem spoilt for choice at full back - maybe one of them can re-train as an openside........

No reason to dislodge Foden. Quins vs Saints was massive in terms of seeing the fullbacks play against each other and Foden definitely came off looking better. Also gave a man of the match masterclass vs Scarlets. Can't think of a game internationally which finished with pundits and fans a like saying "eek... Foden really wasn't up to it today. He was the weak link in the game". He has scored a few important tries internationally too.

England are blessed in that they have a fullback as good as Brown in reserve in case things were to go wrong with Foden. With Alex Goode coming on well and Ben Ransom being strong in the U20s last year, England can say they have depth at fullback. Bet they wish they could say the same of their back row...

Brown's been playing superbly and deserves his chance with England, but I haven't seen Foden put a single foot wrong, including outplaying Brown in the Quins v Saints game. Foden should definitely be England's starting full-back but I'd like to see Brown given some game time - important to have cover, what if Foden got injured etc.

England are actually quite lucky with fullbacks: Foden and Brown are 1st class, also Alex Goode is showing huge potential at Saracens - thought he was fantastic against Biarritz the other day. And if all those three got injured we could use the penalty liability that is Delon Armitage.

Great player (hopefully he's got past his angry stage), but i'd still go with Foden at fullback for the 6 nations.

Have you seen Foden in recent games (ie, last month or so). I'd admit that Brown was probably playing better than Foden before that, but Foden has stepped up and been playing out of his skin in recent games. Including one against Quins.

Great player. He's been consistently good for a while. Currently playing better than Foden, but international exp will probably come out on top. Hope to see him on the bench at least..

Was an easy decision this month though, some solid lines and just sensible play by the man, England pick during 6 nations? Hmmmm...
