Munster Rugby rocked as another key player called up by international team

Reigning URC Champions Munster Rugby could be set to lose another key contributor at the end of the season following Antoine Frisch's call-up to the French Six Nations squad.

For the 27-year-old centre, this is not the first time he has been involved with an international set-up, having made three appearances for the Emerging Ireland side in 2022.

For Munster, it would be a cruel blow to lose another star player to the IRFU's Non-Irish Qualified ruling just a year after seeing Jean Kleyn capped by the Springboks.

Kleyn would go on to win a World Cup with the country of his birth but his ineligibility for Ireland meant that Munster had to choose between him and countrymen RG Snyman.

Snyman would go on to sign for rivals Leinster a few months later to remain in Ireland for another as his family are well settled in the country.

The news of Frisch's call up was met with good will for the player but disappointment that Munster may lose out.
