Following on from last week's launch of the new Springbok jersey, ASICS has now launched the Wallabies Rugby World Cup 2015 jersey, with a host of squad members including Israel Folau, Stephen Moore, James Slipper and Bernard Foley on hand at Allianz Stadium to unveil it.

It is the most technically innovative Rugby Union jersey developed by ASICS to date.

Designed by scientists at the ASICS Institute of Sport Science (ISS) in Kobe Japan, the project has been an 18 month long collaboration between ASICS, the ARU and Wallabies squad members, who have been integral in testing designs throughout the process.

Through scientific research and testing, ASICS has been able to develop a jersey that is lighter, stronger, more ergonomically fitted and harder to grab than previous Wallabies jerseys. The jersey has also been created with specially designed grip points which will enable players to hold the ball more securely.

The innovative jersey will be worn for the first time when the Wallabies take on Fiji at Millennium Stadium Cardiff (UK) on 23 September in the Aussies first pool match of the Rugby World Cup 2015.

Wallabies hooker Stephen Moore said, "When you see the detail and the research that the scientists at ASICS put into developing this Jersey specifically for our World Cup campaign it gives you confidence that you are wearing the best and most advanced jersey.

"Every detail in the development of our kit, from our jerseys to socks, and for many of us our boots by ASICS, is intended to help us perform at our best."
