Ntamack's moment of genius which almost set up iconic French try vs All Blacks

A moment of genius from French fly half Romain Ntamack almost set up one of the game’s great tries against the All Blacks in Paris on Saturday.

New Zealand were on a counter attack when full back Jordie Barrett kicked the ball deep into the French half just after the hour mark at Stade de France.

The ball bounced into the French in-goal area when Ntamack gathered possession under intense pressure with seemingly nowhere to go and three All Blacks pinning him back.

However the French magician spotted space down the touchline and stepped Brad Webber, fended off Richie Mo’unga and made a remarkable break to set up a return counter attack.

The Toulouse playmaker made it to the 22-metre line and produced a lovely blind pass to full back Melvyn Jaminet who charged down field back into the All Blacks half.

Although they weren’t able to finish off the move with five points, All Blacks number eight Ardie Savea was shown his first ever Test match yellow card for infringing at the breakdown and Jaminet slotted the three points.

This play helped France to a historic 40-25 win in their final game of the Autumn Nations Series and full match highlights are available below:

Ntamack, 22, made his Test debut in 2019 and has accumulated 23 caps for Les Bleus.
