One Year On From Freddie Steward's Brilliant Post Springbok Match Interview

One year on from controversially seeing off their 2019 World Cup final foes, England once again brace for what is undoubtedly going to be a Springbok onslaught on Saturday.

Both sides come into the clash on the back of positive outings in round three of the Autumn Nation Series with England rallying back to secure a draw with the All Blacks whilst South Africa brought Italy back to earth with a thumping victory.

For England it has been a mixed bag of results recently as Eddie Jones continues to tweak his squad ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

A number of young players have really started to emerge for England as of late, none more so than Leicester fullback Freddie Steward who is quickly rising through the ranks as one of England’s very best players.

Certainly, one of the best players in air, the big fullback’s rise through the ranks has been rather rapid as he explained last year following his side’s victory over the Boks.

Two years removed from watching his future teammates lose the World Cup final to the Boks, Steward recounts how he could not have been further from the action in Japan.
