Penalty rebound leads to lucky try for Oyonnax's Jimmy Yobo

Last weekend bottom of the table Oyonnax upset Top 14 champions Stade Francais 25-12, for the latter's seventh defeat of a troubling season so far. The only try of the match was scored in bizarre fashion, as former Toulon back Jimmy Yobo took his opportunity.

Regis Lespinas kicked 17 points in total and it was his penalty that provided Oyonnax with a stroke of good fortune as the kick hit the upright then bounced into the waiting arms of following up Yobo, who finished well before Lespinas added the extras.

While it may look like luck, the players that chase these regularly will sometimes come up with the goods, so it's clearly worth making the effort. In this case it may well have been the difference between a win and a loss.

Stade Francais face a difficult challenge ahead if they are to defend their title, after having won just four matches from 11 in the Top 14. Tonight they face top three team Toulouse in a crucial clash. In the other Top 14 match of the day, Toulon host Pau.

Yesterday Oyonnax went down 42-13 to Grenoble.
