Perpignan scored a sensational team try against Béziers in the opening round of the Pro D2 2019/20 season.

The hosts turned over a line out inside their own 22-metre line and then made 11 consecutive passes from one end of the pitch to the other in a lovely counter attack move.

Perpignan made a break on the outside before moving the ball back in field and it was a clinical support line by second row Shahn Eru that broke the Béziers defence.

The kiwi lock ran the ball under the posts to score their first try of the game, which they went on to win 23-13 at Perpignan’s Stade Aimé Giral.

It was a friendly. Beziers had a man red carded after 8 minutes. Apart from this try Perpignan were lucky to win. They were very hard pressed at the end. A very disappointing start to the season.
