Racing 92 on verge of signing Wales winger

Racing 92 have been well known to spend big over the years. Finn Russell and Dan Carter are just two of the big overseas names to have donned the light blue and white of Racing.

This time around the French outfit have decided to do their summer shopping, not just cross-country, but also cross-code.

Regan Grace, the Welsh speedster is currently out of contract with St Helen’s and is being linked with an exciting move back to rugby union.

Grace was born in the popular seaside town of Port Talbot, and grew up playing rugby union at local side Aberavon Quins RFC.

Despite being scouted by The Ospreys at the time, Grace made the decision to cross over into the 13-a-side game. Since making his first professional appearance back in 2017, Grace has scored 86 tries in 138 appearances for the Saints.

There was speculation that the Welsh international would return home, but with talk of clubs having all but spent their budgets, it is now looking highly unlikely.

France’s Top 14 division has a salary cap of £10m, well above that of other rugby union divisions.

Racing, having lost the services of French star Teddy Thomas, will be looking to find a replacement, and Grace could very well be the perfect fit:

This could also be incredible timing for the Welsh national side, as healthy competition for the likes of Josh Adams and Rees-Zammit ahead of next year's rugby world cup.

Should this move be confirmed, time will tell whether or not he can become the next Jason Robinson…
