Reddit remains undefeated with hilarious World Rugby men's rankings update

Ah, Reddit... The internet's back alley where shots are fired, the craic is had, and people remember that life doesn't need to be taken too seriously.

Away from the bright lights of highly edited Instagram videos, the debate club that is X (formerly Twitter) and the mud-slinging one-upmanship snobbery of Facebook, Reddit fills a sweet spot for Rugby fans to say what they want without fear of their personal profile and character being sabotaged.

In truth this is what sport fandom should be about, having a laugh and a little gloat when your team wins and putting your hands up and receiving some friendly banter when they lose.

Following what was a truly magnificent round of Guinness Six Nations action, the platform has been abuzz with funny content, namely at the expense of what is still an exceptional Irish side and classy but inconsistent Scotland.

As with every corner of the internet, South African fans have chipped in with their usual 'the Six Nations is a second-rate competition' in what looks like a desperate plea to be involved with the fun.

Whilst a lot of this South African banter has failed to land, one piece that was pretty brilliantly put together was an updated World Rugby rankings.

Gaining further ground as the World's number-one ranked team due to Ireland's last-minute loss to England, South Africa is now firmly entrenched in their rightful place atop the pile.

Describing each nation by how they are viewed by external fans, user HonkyDaFonky posted this truly super piece.

Across the board, each description appears highly accurate, with Italy's description as the best team in the world being truly magnificent!

Top work, HonkyDaFonky, and to the rest of our South African readers, we do truly love you too!
