Reece Hodge goes unpunished for reckless tackle on Fijian star

Australia winger Reece Hodge has been called out for his tackle on Fiji flanker Peceli Yato which forced the Fijian off the field with a head injury.

Yato had already scored a try, made 80 metres from four carries and beaten three defenders before he failed a Head Injury Assessment in the 26th minute.

Hodge received no card for the tackle, which sees his shoulder make contact with Yato’s head without a clear attempt to wrap his arms.

It’s likely the incident will be reviewed.

The Wallabies went on to win their opening game of the World Cup 39-21 against Fiji in Sapporo.

That's desgraceful and an even worse decision to let him off. He should be on his way home!

I think he was just trying to get out of the way.

Didn’t watch the game, but is there some mitigation that he wraps both arms? Still shoulder to head though. Way too high

to be fair the arms only wrap through momentum, not because he tried to
