We've seen it in Super Rugby in Australia, now thanks to Canal Plus, French Top 14 fans will also be able to enjoy the revolutionary new angles and point of view that Ref Cam brings. It made it's debut in France during the Stade Francais vs Toulon game, as you can see in the above video.

We get to see Poite kitted out before the match, then a montage of shots from during gameplay.

Does watching Ref Cam give you newfound respect for referees, and what do you think of it in general; amazing, or fad that won't become the norm? Let us know as a comment below!

The shots of him running behind the try being scored were superb. Getting to the running lines and support play was excellent.

As long as they remember to turn the camera off when they go for a piss at half time, I am happy

brilliant...american sports, (NFL mainly) have normally led the way with this type of innovation for the fans, great to see rugby being ahead of the game

The periods of running rugby, ca 4:15, made me realise how realistic some aspects of Jonah Lomu's rugby challenge game actually are, might get it out for the first time in a while now

It is pretty cool! Would be better if we don't have to see part of ref's face in the bottom right hand corner though :P

During the match, commentators informed us that the referee cam was not yet included as an official camera that the video referee could use, but hinted that it could/would. So the ref cam might be here for good.

Some of the scrum shots were a bit mundane, but the open field shots were wicked. It really made you feel like you were on the pitch. Can't see the footage being used much in real time during games, however. That said it would make a lot of sense as to use some of the footage for replays during down time or for the TMO. And at the very least it should make players be a little more cautious in their dealings with the referee.

I like the use of the camera especially around the scrums (of course)

This is the worst episode of Peep Show ever.
