Retallick cheap shot on Michael Hooper missed by officials in Bledisloe opener

All Blacks lock Brodie Retallick got away with a questionable challenge on Wallabies captain Michael Hooper during Saturday's Bledisloe Cup opener in Auckland.

Hooper was on the floor at a breakdown and had raised his arms in the air to plead innocence with the referee when Retallick blindly cleaned out the unexacting Wallabies star from behind.

Hooper immediately appealed to the linesman as he got back to his feet but nothing was picked up by the officials at Eden Park.

Despite having a brilliant try ruled out in the second half, the All Blacks put away the Wallabies 33-25 and full match highlights are available below:

Retallick, 30, stands at 6ft 8" and weighs 124kg and is one of New Zealand's most experienced players with 84 caps to his name.
