Rokocoko stars in one of the most entertaining games in Top 14 history

In 2017 All Blacks legend Joe Rokocoko and Fiji’s Leone Nakarawa starred in a TOP 14 game filled with incredible skills, late drama and hilarious moments.

The former New Zealand winger scored a decisive try late on to beat Montpellier 13-22 at GGL Stadium and reach the semi-finals while Nakarawa’a ridiculous offloading game left fans in awe. Rokocoko also showcased outrageous handling skills with a truly unbelievable offload in the sixth minute.

The game was full of international superstars including Dan Carter, Nemani Nadolo, Pierre Spies, Ben Tameifuna and Jannie du Plessis, who received a straight red card late on for throwing multiple punches.

On a lighter note, referee Romain Poite was also on the receiving end of a punishment when the ball struck him in the testes as he indicated for a scrum in the second half.

On reflection this was one of the most entertaining 80 minutes of rugby we’ve seen in recent years and although Racing 92 went on to lose in the semi-finals against the champions Clermont, this game will forever be a Top 14 classic.
