Ruan Pienaar made his long awaited return from injury and had an immediate impact as he scored 17 points en route to victory over Glasgow Warriors. As Pienaar is set to be forced out at Ulster come season's end, the South African is doing his best to go out in style.
The try started just shy of the 52 minute mark, as Glasgow centre and Olympic silver medalist Mark Bennett managed to break free up the touchline. Ulster quickly recovered and a determined tackle from Tommy Bowe forced Bennett to turn the ball over back to the trailing Pienaar.
From there, he beat two defenders and offloaded to Peter Nelson for a surge up the field. Bowe was not done either as got up and chased the play to secure a pass that popped up into the air.
Working right to left, three passes found Pienaar out wide, who outran Brian Alainu'uese to finish what he started way back in his half. Ulster would go on to win 37-17.
It was a fitting welcome back for the fan favorite who unfortunately, will not be returning next season.
Back in November, when speaking of his time with Ulster coming to an end, he said: "I just wanted to come in to Ulster as a foreigner and make a difference in some way.
"I have always really believed in the jersey here. I would never have stayed as long as I did otherwise. It's very emotional to think that it's coming to an end."
