Rugby Club Plays of the Week 2012 - Round 4

It's that time of the week as we catch up on what happened in the previous round of Super Rugby action, with the Rugby Club Plays of the Week from Fox Sports.

This week Sean Maloney takes us back to 2003 with some vintage stuff from Carlos Spencer and the Blues. You will have seen that try in the compilation that was posted on here a few weeks back, featuring the best of King Carlos in that year. Incredible stuff.

Back to Round 4 of Super Rugby, and some of the tries featured come from the Cheetahs, who picked up a dramatic win against the Rebels, and from the Force against the Waratahs.

Cory Jane had a bit of a 'sexy and I know it' moment against the Highlanders, right in the face of Jimmy Cowan. This morning he did a similar thing to another AB halfback teamate, Piri Weepu, after he handed him off to score a try in the Blues vs Hurricanes classic.

In the big hits section have a look at young Julian Savea tearing up the opposition. He's becoming a real threat out wide and this could be the season where he'll push for higher honours.

Wales even managed to sneak into this one, with a shoutout for their Grand Slam win. Enjoy, and as always, please share the post with your friends, and let us know if you enjoyed it.

    Cory Jane's known for being a bit of a joker, so I don't think those guys would have taken it too seriously. Of course, yeah, the problem is that if you don't know that, it's a bad example.

    It's like telling an off-colour joke. It's fine among friends, but if you bust it out around people you don't know at an inappropriate time, you look like an idiot.

    You're talking of two different things, mate. One thing is a try celebration dance (Digby Ioane doing his "showe dance" or the Turtle and Rene Ranger making a mock version of Ioane's Turtle), which is ok. It's a simple, fair, colourfull fun. You scored a try, do a backflip, cheer with your mates, do a little jiggy, ok. Not everyone's cup of tea, but there is no harm in it, so stop being such prudes. As long as they dont exagerate, as in American Football, I can't see why not.

    Another thing is tauting the other team. Tossing the ball at an opposing team's player, this nauseating hip thrust, or just going to them and rubbing it in their face, THAT should be erradicated with severe consequences.

    We all love some banter, and the occasional well rehearsed (or not. Hint, hint, Mr Ranger) team coreography, but stick to the honest banter with fairplay. This isn't football (neither American or "The Real One")

    Maybe it is just this weeks video, but I am finding these "big hits" are starting to look more and more ordinary.... I mean especially when we compare them to the monster hits of the past.

    Cory Janes little taunt was embarrassing, but if that's the way professional rugby/normal rugby is heading = taunts, cards, and standard tackles, then I guess I'll just have to accept it...

    Watching Cory Jane taunt another player after the try is one of the uglier things I've seen on this site. If somebody from the Highlanders knocked him out I wouldn't have a problem with it. We give out 5 week bans for hard tackles and let this stuff go?

    Try dances need to be wiped out because it is unsporting. Jerks have been doing this in American football since the 70's. We're better than that rugby world!
