The third round of Australia's National Rugby Championship (NRC) delivered some great tries and one huge tackle in particular, as the NSW Country Eagles beat Melbourne Rising 32-20. This hit by Sam Jeffries has been touted as one of the hits of the season, and you can see why.

Jeffries surprised front rower Folau Fainga with a huge blindside shot, showing the kind of linespeed and big tackling that the likes of fellow second rower Courtney Lawes would be proud of.

In fairness Fainga was there for the taking, but it was a great offensive hit, and he might be more wary when receiving the ball in that position in future!

None of the hands looked confident, Fainga stepped in by 45 degrees to check what was taking so bloody long, lost sight of Jeffries, and got mangled

It doesn't take much work to become ambidextrous. The less you think, the easier it is. 9 and 10 owe him a beer
