Schalk Brits inside flick pass for Chris Wyles try

On Friday night Saracens achieved their second consecutive win over Ospreys in the Heineken Cup with a 16-13 victory, following on from their 31-26 win a week ago at Wembley. One of the highlights from the Round 3 win was this great try they scored.

The previous meeting between the two was also a close affair but at Wembley there were far more points on offer for the fans. Chris Wyles scored arguably the try of the game, but it was a team effort that had multiple phases before a touch a brilliance from that man Schalk Brits.

Featuring at least twice in the build up, it took his superb touch to break open the Ospreys defence as he drew in a few players and offloaded for Wyles, who himself ran a nice support line. Brits wasn't only featuring in the loose, as his match stats show that he landed every lineout throw, didn't miss a tackle, and carried 10 times.

That was in just 48 minutes of rugby, before he went off with a slight niggle. It was typical Schalk Brits, and this try is well worth watching again, or enjoying if you haven't seen it yet.

The latest loss for Ospreys means they are now in trouble in Pool 5, and it makes things very tricky for them to progress to the next round of play.

    Not just you. Was a strangely reffed match, for sure. Jerome Garces was the refree that match. He's never really all that "awful"...but he's also never really that great of a ref, either.

    I agree. There were quite a few refereeing decisions that were dubious and confusing that match. Even the commentators seemed a bit agitated at times.

    Yeah, you're probably right. Not having CC/Super Rugby going on makes me tend to forget all the other incredible talent in the SA squad. I'm sure there are plenty of home-based players to pick from.

    That said, Brits has been pretty fantastic for the Sarries. One of the many in the long line of players who do awesome for club sides but never really shine on the international stage. C'est la vie.

    Would have to be as back-up to Bismarck Du Plessis. No coach in the world would leave him out of a starting 15.

    Good to see that the pressure doesn't kill his will to try new things on the field. After all rugby is a game and they are all playing it.

    I still don't understand what the hell Sky are doing with the slomo... they pick the strangest times to stop / start it. Why would they stop the slomo abruptly at the end of the flick and why do they start it after the winger has already touched down? They always use it on players walking around too. It's great when it's used well, but I don't understand why Sky use it for things like walking or after the ball has been touched down.

    Gotta be something in the kits - those black and red varities; Toulouse's front rowers were running around the pitch like backs today, too.

    I know Brits is getting up there in age by rugby standards (ya wouldn't know it watching the guy play, though), and he's also playing overseas...but what would be the chances he'd ever get a call back from the Boks, especially now that PdV is gone, and Smit is leaving a vacancy at hooker?

    Beautifull pass!! And he was involved a dozen time in the minute leading up to that try too. Great player.

    The reverse fixture ref was a total joke, he could barely speak english. Looks like the ospreys are all but knocked out again.

    The scrums were a total mess in the return match in Swansea Friday, and Brits did well to stay on the right side of the law scrumtime, most of the time, until he got yellowed in the second half. Streetwise see. Gwyn Jones on S4C's HC highlights was flabbergasted at the mess the scrums were in this match. Ospreys had quite a weight advantage. How Paul James the Ospreys prop got yellow carded in the first half is beyond belief.
