Scotland beat France 29-18 at Murrayfield on Sunday, handing England the Six Nations title but more importantly from their point of view, following through on the good form they've shown so far. They face Ireland in Dublin next weekend, where both sides will be looking to finish on a high.
As it stands, Scotland are up to third place on the overall table.

If I remember correctly, Fickou's try was disallowed due to a forward pass.

Oh by the way can anyone explain why Fickou's try was disallowed? Was watching the game in a crowded pub and all I saw was:
- Fickou crossing and grounding the ball;
- Jackson raising a hand;
- a banner on tv saying "collapsing the maul"
- and then a french touch.
We should consider ourselves lucky they left out the singing...
France may have played badly in your view, but in my opinion they still played better than any of the games this 6N. France seemed to be trying to be too ambitious and snatching at the game, however they still looked dangerous in attack and during turnovers with the likes of Fofana charging down the lines..
Commentators stated that they felt because the referee was an ex player he is aware of how things can hinder and how things won't hinder, he clearly felt that the French player did not lose a step and therefore was not hindered... if he'd broken his stride there would definitely be no try.
honestly there's no shame losing to that Scottish team. But with so many handling errors, I don't see how you could say France played well.

Laidlaw's shirt-grab is nothing new in rugby. Look at your own Top 14 (and other leagues), where enforcers are taught to halt the opposition where ever they can.
Laidlaw did not even slow the French No.6 - like a mouse trying to slow a charging cow.

Let's say it was good rugby with way too many handling errors from the french. and a totally inconsistent scrum.
Maybe some french fans cannot bear the thought of loosing to scotland...OK.
I really don't want to lessen the scots performance. But I think some people might in truth have been so happy to see those brilliant scots winning that they forget about those 20 lost balls by the french. There were 16 scrums, 15 for scotland, 1 for the french (which they won giving them a 100% ratio!).
35-35 would have been a perfect result imo :-)

The thing is, from a neutral I'd say this was not as bad as their game against Ireland.. They played some strong rugby but weren't clinical enough. The Scots capitalised on everything they had. Also the French seemed to have a game plan with no plan B.. They seemed like playing their front row into the ground then bringing on a fresh front row was the plan... when their new boy went off almost instantly they had to bring back a well used prop.
Seems to me that every neutral reckon this game was very good and that Scotland and France played well. But every French person is insisting that France played badly, almost as if to justify the loss against Scotland...

The Scots really are a thrilling team nowadays. I love that.
Regarding France I ve read their rate of passes and offloads is the highest in the tournament and yet they will most likely end up on the fifth position. I think that tells a lot.
In the french media they say les Bleus lost the ball llike 20+ times. They produce a couples of minutes of really interesting rugby, a couple of times during the game. But it was their worst game this far under Guy Noves, who is very disapointed.
That music choice is absolutely shocking.
That was a beauty of a pass from Hogg, I haven't yelled at the TV in amazement in quite a while.

It was a good game, sure, but as a French fan I was disappointed with all the handling errors from les Bleus. So many forward passes...
Anyways, just 2 others things I'd like to point out:
- the 2d scottish try should have been disallowed, if we don't want to see 'football style' tugging creep into the game at all times. And it would probably not have changed the final outcome. But that type of cynical foul play is really disappointing to see.
- the scots deserved to win for that final try alone! Stroke of genius from Hogg.

A first win vs France in 10 years is never the fruit of hasard.
Vern Cotter is doing a wonderful job with these young scot lads.
France was also quite promising at times. but for the moment, they haven't the precision and the full personnel to achieve a 80 minutes performance. I've seen a stat decounting that 13 of the 15 scrums were a scot introduction. It says something on french actual sloppy hands.
Will be difficult vs England with a 1 day less of preparation.
delighted for the scots but why do the SRU choose a soundtrack that sounds like it came out of Dr. Who? from the eighties?
The England-Wales game was always going to get more headlines, but for my money, this was the best game of the championship, and one of the best NH internationals I've seen for a long time.
Scotland were clearly outstanding, but France were impressive too - I think where they were made to pay is they didn't have a breakdown specialist in their loose-trio, and Scotland took advantage of the control they had when in possession.
Hogg is outstanding talent in the team, but there were nearly a dozen Scottish players who would have been deserving of man of the match. Their only problems came in the line-out, and that was only in the first half - otherwise, it was the complete performance.
What a game, Stuart Hogg... what a sensational player!
The whole team performance was incredible, and France, to their credit played very well as well, few errors here and there, but it certainly didn't look like the usual "France were asleep and Scotland got lucky" kind of tag line.
