Italy suffered a 36-20 defeat at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday, as Scotland ended their run of nine straight losses in the Six Nations. Flankers John Barclay and John Hardie scored early tries, before Greig Laidlaw's boot took control, and Tommy Seymour scored a late try.

The match was competitive though and Italy scored tries of their own through Leonardo Ghiraldini and Marco Fuser, coming back from trailing 17-3, but not having enough in the tank to take control, despite Scotland losing both Finn Russell and WP Nel to the sinbin.

It was an easy win for the Scotts. Previous stats clearly shows that Italy has never won the champions title, so its very less likely that they will beat Scotland!

Totally agree. I feel for the guy, I think that is perhaps why he appears to lose it quite a bit towards the end of most games, it must be a symptom of frustration.

It's up to him of course, but at the age of 32, I can see him making another world cup - I can't see Italy fielding anyone that has anything on Parisse any time soon.

I almost think Italy are falling into Irelands category at the moment. When Ireland had BOD, they had the ability to beat most teams, without him, they looked a bit lost. I think Italy may go the same way where Parisse will retire before the rest of the team is ready for him to go...

With all respect to Italy, Sergio Parisse really deserves to have more success internationally than he has had. I don't know what Italy are going to do when he retires, that man is the spirit animal of number 8s worldwide.
