Semesa Rokodunguni last-minute try robs Exeter at the death

Once-capped England international Semesa Rokoduguni scored a dramatic last-gasp try to help Bath snatch an unlikely 13-10 win over Exeter Chiefs at the weekend.

Fijian-born Rokoduguni showcased his incredible feet and strength to fend off the attention of Chiefs flyhalf Gareth Steenson to cross over in the 88th minute to seal victory.

Exeter had scored what many believed to be the winning try 10 minutes from the end when Mitch Lees finished off a dominant rolling maul by the home side, which started on the Bath 22m line.

But Bath, and their talisman George Ford, pressed on well into stoppage time, and it was arguably Ford's beautifully weighted miss-pass to Rokoduguni - which was nearly intercepted by Ian Whitten - that made the try for Rokoduguni, who streaked in for the winner.

Rokoduguni has yet to add to his only England cap - against New Zealand in 2014 - but has been described by team-mate Dave Attwood as an "unbelievable talent".

Speaking to the BBC, Attwood said: "He can pretty much do everything - if I could pick one player to be, I'd probably be him. He has got a little bit of 'razzle dazzle' - he's an unbelievable talent."

    Afraid you didn't miss much, Larry. It was an 'attritional' contest. Very sh1t that you don't get what you pay for though.

    Attwood's disallowed try was a tad unlucky though - marginally forward, possibly. In Super Rugby, that would have not even been reviewed.

    Agree with Stroudos, Rokoduguni has been very unlucky to only have the one cap. He's been bashing very hard on the door for some time. But Eddie does seem to like wing-full-back hybrids across the (and I hate this phrase) back three.

    This match was supposed to be broadcast by NBC Sport cable channel this past Sunday. I checked the Internet for the times on Friday, and it was to be on after soccer mid-morning on the 30th. Instead, and for the next 12 hours after Premiership Football, it was NASCAR racing! Then people wonder why rugby really hasn't caught on so well in the USA! If it isn't on the TV, number one, kids won't be exposed to it. And no, not everyone in the States has expendable income to buy one of those special channels. I'm already paying $114/month for cable, about L140+. If NBC is supposed to broadcast these Aviva Premiership games, then why the hell are they televising all this car racing instead? Perhaps soccer and American football interests don't won't rugby televised. You can call it conspiracy theory if you want, but I have to wonder!

    Attwood is right. How many phases of possession there for a net gain of about -20cm? Then a bit of the old razzle-dazzle and they're home and hosed.
    Hard to believe Rokodaguni only has one cap for England. I've long been a big fan and hope to see him add to that tally soon.
    I wonder if Eddie Jones may be reluctant to pick a player who insists on kissing the bloody ball just before he puts it down for a try? In my opinion that would be a very legitimate criterion for exclusion, but I can't think of any other reason to leave him out.
