Shaquille O’Neal and the Drop Kick Murphys set to get involved with MLR Rugby

For so long, American Rugby fans have been calling out for a high level league to call their own.

Now firmly entrenched as a bonafied competition which fans can get behind, Major League Rugby has plugged that gap as it continues to go from strength to strength.

Such has been the interest in the competition, that it has continued its expansion into new territories with the newest team this year being the Chicago Hounds.

Already rumoured to have signed Irish internationals Dave Kearney and Adam Byrne, the club will be looking to take a major leap next season.

Off the pitch things are going swimmingly well for the club who look to have gathered quite the support base. Now in a rather exciting development, the club has announced that NBA legend-turned-DJ Shaquille O’Neal and iconic band the Drop Kick Murphys will be performing at their Dawg Town block party.

Having previously shown his respect for rugby league players whilst down in Australia, MLR fans will be hoping Big Shaq takes an interest in Union.

Could we be looking at a future MLR franchise owner?!?
