Sonny Bill Williams went five from five as he defeated American Clarence Tillman III in the first round of their New Zealand Professional Boxing Association championship bout in Hamilton.

The fight was stopped after Williams connected with a strong left before following up with a flurry of punches that left Tillman hanging on the ropes. SBW was ecstatic with the win.

"It's massive. On the world stage it's just a blip for me, coming where I have in a year-and-a-half it's massive. People love me or hate me but I can't dwell on the negatives, I'm very happy."

Amatuer night, Tillman was throwing what we like to call "Hay makers" in Ireland, does he have a problem that prohibits him from bending his elbows while swinging at the same time?
Fair play to Sonny, he seems to be enjoying himself, but god help him if he evers goes up against an actual pro!

Fellas, he has to start somewhere. Let him enjoy the moment.

As someone who used to box turned rugby player, this is one of the worst boxing matches I have ever seen. They looked like two kids in a school yard fight just swinging wild punches hoping something will connect. I appreciate SBW may enjoy boxing but perhaps he should just stick to playing rugby in front of the cameras and leave the sweet science to real professionals.
