Sonny-Bill Williams Gives Irish U20 Star A Shoutout For Classy Offload

Irish Rugby has never been at a higher point across the board.

With the senior team currently ranked number one in the world, it would be easy to forget how dominant their U20 side have been recently.

Currently holding a Six Nations Grand Slam title from 2022, the U20 side began their 2023 campaign with a dominant 44 – 27 over Wales.

Starting rather slowly, the Irish side rounded into form as the contest went on.

Spearheading their attack was the promising flyhalf Sam Prendergast who looks to be the real deal.

At 6’4” the Leinster flyhalf is a physical specimen in the ten channel. Using this height to great advantage, Prendergast showed his sublime offloading ability against Wales.

The offload was so good that Rugby’s greatest-ever offload merchant Sonny-Bill Williams gave the youngster a shoutout on Twitter.

High praise indeed and Irish Rugby (Leinster in particular) continue to produce incredible talent.
