Soso Matiashvili incredible finish helps Georgia's big win over Canada

Georgia are doing their very best to put the rest of the rugby world on notice. This included a 54-22 demolition of Canada over the weekend. In addition to having a reliable pack, tries like this one from Soso Matiashvili highlight an attacking mindset that is making it harder and harder to ignore the rugby-mad nation.

Many have been calling for them to have a shot at inclusion to the Six Nations, or at least be granted more chances to play against the highest level of competition in Europe. After their emphatic win, it's hard not to at least acknowledge some pretty convincing reasons.

Trailing by 18, and with 13 minutes remaining in the match, any hope of a comeback for Canada was creatively stamped out with one of the most amazing finishes we're likely to see.

Matiashvili initiated a kick and chase from half-way and scorched past the entire Canadian team to touch down by the absolute slimmest of margins, before the ball made it to the dead ball line.

As the replay showed, there was hardly another inch to spare, and the dive was textbook. How appropriate that Matiashvili then slid into a board that read: "Committed to the Game." Indeed.

Canada trailing, not Georgia. Could have been written the other way though, sure.

Superb! I'm sure Wales aren't taking these boys lightly. It could be a good contest at the weekend.

    Seriously impressive.

RD, surely you meant that they were "leading by 18", not "trailing by 18"?
