Stormers Number Eight Evan Roos See's Yellow For Silly Incident

Stormers and Springbok number eight Evan Roos has become a breakthrough star last season following a sensational season as the Cape Townians won the inaugural URC title.

Having made his debut for the Boks against Wales many expected Roos to kick on and have a heavy involvement in the Rugby Championship.

Unfortunately for the hulking number eight he found himself in somewhat of a log jam as the Boks picked a number of seasoned veterans ahead of him for the tournament.

Now back in full swing with the Stormers, Roos has hit the ground running having been sensational in the champions opening two games.

If there is to be one knock on the electric youngster, it is his propensity for getting stuck into unnecessary off the ball incidents.

Once again caught in the middle of an ugly incident which took place in Stormers recent clash with Scottish side Edinburgh. Roos picks up his opposite number Nick Haining before ruthlessly slamming him down in an unnecessary and quite frankly silly incident.

Roos was caught carrying out similar antics last season as he shoved Leinster back Harry Byrne’s head into the ground.

For a player with such talent these sort of incidents where he could be considered a liability might well count against him when it comes to international selection.
