Super 14 Pick of the Week - Round 8

Round eight of the Super 14 saw a change at the top of the table as the Bulls went down to the Blues on the road, and the Waratahs beat the Cheetahs in Sydney.

The Waratahs went top as they beat the Cheetahs 40-17 at the Sydney Football Stadium. They sit on 28 points on the table, as do the Bulls, but the Australian side have a better points difference. The Bulls do have a game in hand, but will need to lift their game on tour.

It wasn't a great week for the South African sides in general, with only the Sharks winning, in Durban, against the on form Reds. Quade Cooper was at his best once again though, dazzling the defence and once again showing that he's Australia's form number ten.

The Crusaders, third on the table, played to a 26-26 draw with the Hurricanes, with Dan Carter missing a last minute conversion kick that would have won the match.

The Stormers, sitting fourth, went down to the Force in Perth after a dramatic late drop kick from flyhalf David Hill. Flanker David Pocock, making his return from injury, scored a great try for the Force.

The try of the weekend was possibly the effort by the Highlanders, and Fetu'u Vainikolo, against the Chiefs. It's the second week in a row that they've scored a fantastic team try.

One of the moments of the weekend though was when Waratahs prop Al Baxter scored his first ever Super 14 try, in his 100th Super Rugby match. Classic commentary from The Gregs and Kearnsey made it worth including in this compilation. Warning though, blink and you'll miss it.

Enjoy the tries. We'll have an archive set up for all the Super 14 Pick's of the Week soon.

Oh, and one more thing.. Try Savers & Rib Breakers 11 is almost ready to be posted.
