The Chiefs overcame an undisciplined Hurricanes side and the Hamilton deluge to win 26-18 on Friday

    Yep, that's one of a few rugby rules I'd change if they'd let me. Makes no sense at all. If you can't get to the line, you can't score. You knew all along the post was there, so find a way around it.

    Another is the quick tap and go from a penalty (which is hardly ever taken from the precise spot anyway). This nonsense of running straight at players who aren't back 10m and them backtracking with their hands in the air is just daft, in my opinion.

    Maybe they should consider US NFL type posts? It would be better for player safety.

    Weird you should mention that...I've thought EXACTLY the same thing in the past...If you could set up a ruck on one side of a post, shift to the other side of the post and leave some bodies on the floor at the first ruck then basically you have a large undefendable area..for a guaranteed try (is undefendable a word?!?!)..

    Crusaders' try against the posts seems to raise in interesting question - how do you defend your try line when there is a ruck directly next to the posts? In this situation the try line is the offside line, but the attacking team can actually score a try in front of it (at the base of the thick post-pads, as in this case). Seems to be a situation in which the defence simply has no chance.
