Superb Italian U20 Star's Interview Shows How Far Italian Rugby Has Come

Italian Rugby has enjoyed somewhat of Renaissance over the past twelve months.

Historic victories over Wales and Australia were spearheaded by young talent namely Ange Capuozzo, Paolo Garbisi and Michele Lamaro.

It would now appear as though the next wave of Italian talent looks to be right up there with the best in the Six Nations.

Coming heartbreakingly close to defeating France on Friday before losing 28 – 27, The Azzurri proved once again that the gap is closing.

Building on the superb work of former senior team coach Conor O’Shea who by all accounts bedded in some great structures to support the next generation of Italian players. The Italians could well become a force over the next five years.

One moment from the U20 game was this beautiful interview with one of their star players David Odiase.

The backrow who plys his trade with French Pro D2 team Oyonnax Rugby was passionate that his country would no longer be the laughing stock of the Six Nations.
