Taqele Naiyaravoro leaves a trail of destruction on his way to a try

Monster Waratahs winger Taqele Naiyaravoro scored this bruising try against the Crusaders, leaving various players in his wake. It was reminiscent of Nemani Nadolo, another giant Fijian winger known for his marauding runs.

Naiyaravoro gave the Crusaders a taste of what it's like to be on the opposing side of such a force.

At just past 51 minutes in the contest, the Waratahs were on attack and found the unchallenged Naiyaravoro on the wing with metres of daylight. As we've seen before, he had no problem working up a full head of steam.

Although somewhat ill-advised, opposing winger George Bridge gets credit for at least attempting some form of tackle on the big winger. He was casually bumped aside though, along with other Crusaders en route to the score. 

Despite the amazing try, the Crusaders went on to remain unbeaten and come away with the 41-22 victory. You can view highlights from this match, and others, in our round 6 highlights post.

Naiyaravoro is close to claiming a starting berth, say Waratahs coaching staff, after two powerful performances off the bench in recent weeks. See what Chris Malone, attacking coach, had to say below this video.

    Quite amusing at the celebration point where that 'little' number 4, comes jumping in, bloke looks like a sleight fly half compared to that beast...

    Also, guy looked to be gently rolling, I wonder what he's like when he hits top speed...

    ..and of course, as others have said, the attempted tackle was dreadful!

    It drives me nuts to see poor tackling like this. A textbook tackle right at the line of the shorts, with a good strong wrap of the arms would have done the trick. At the risk of sounding like an old fart, time was that a textbook tackle was the bread-and-butter of any rugby player worth his salt.

    This guy doesn't even seem to have much pace. Remember when wingers were quick?

    Huge unit. But the first attempted tackle was terrible! Surely with such a size mismatch you go low and cling on to his legs for all your worth? That's how we were taught at school in the late 80s/early 90s anyway...
