Teddy Thomas burns Irish defence with raw speed for memorable French try

France came close to upsetting the apple cart and beating Ireland in Saturday's Six Nations bout, thanks in part to this wonderful try by Teddy Thomas that was all about speed. He scored an equally impressive solo try in just his second Test, after a hat-trick on debut.

France's attack had been blunt all game and finding themselves six points down with 10 minutes to go, they needed to throw caution to the wind and did just that with a quick throw from their own 10-metre line.

Antoine Dupont did well to step Conor Murray and then free Thomas down the wing, with the flyer using his serious speed to round Jacob Stockdale and get away from Rob Kearney.

It means that the 24-year-old Racing 92 winger now has six tries in nine games for Les Bleus.

Unfortunately for Thomas it was just not meant to be, as Sexton broke French hearts with that drop goal in extra time to secure a 15-13 victory for the Irish.

What was great to hear too was the French crowd's reaction to taking that quick throw in the lead up to the try. More of that in the future can only be a good thing for rugby.

Hahaha and people call other commentators biased...

Onto the Thomas try, I'm amazed he managed to put his pace down such a tight blind side, all the Irish players were on that side!!
