The AIG Rugby Innovation Challenge

AIG have collaborated with Opta, New Zealand Rugby, and USA Rugby to launch the AIG Rugby Innovation Challenge, offering $85 000 in prizes for software developers that would like to work with big data and bring rugby to the masses.

Software developers who want to help change the way fans around the world experience rugby can submit their Opta-data fueled apps via the AIG Rugby Innovation App Challenge

The software competition challenges developers to harness rugby data and get it into the hands of fans via useful, engaging apps, and runs through October 9, 2013.

GREAT PRIZES

A high profile panel of judges will evaluate the submissions and award prizes totaling $85,000, including $20,000 in cash, access to Opta’s live international data feeds for two years, Air New Zealand flights and accommodations to see an All Blacks match, consulting meetings with Opta Sports, signed New Zealand All Blacks and USA Rugby merchandise, and exposure via two of the world's biggest rugby websites, AllBlacks.com and our very own, Rugbydump.com.

Entries will be judged based on the quality of the idea, how well the app integrates AIG Opta Rugby Data, and the potential impact on rugby enthusiasts. Developers must submit either a working app or a link to a Web app, along with screenshots and a video demonstrating the working software.
