The Beast hits back at Eddie Jones following wild All Black comments

Known for his confrontational approach to the press and opposition sides, Eddie Jones fails to stay out of the headlines for very long. His love affair with remaining at the top of the Google search words continued today as he stared in an Aussie commercial designed to get people talking.

This advert couldn't be timed better, as it comes off the back of a recent press conference where Jones claimed: “There’s nothing better than winning against New Zealand because you feel the country sinking, right?”

“It’s not just rugby sinks; the country sinks. The whole economy goes down. The prime minister is there with his fingers crossed, hoping the All Blacks win because he knows the economy is going to drop if they lose. So we can have that effect.”

This left many in disbelief, especially considering Australia's poor form under Jones it's been suggested that he ought to focus more on the chat to his players on the field and less on the opposition side.

This appears to be a sentiment shared by World Cup winner Tendai Mtawarira. Fondly known as ‘The Beast’, Mtawarira has taken to Twitter to tell Jones to reign it in until he’s done the job on the pitch.

The Bledisloe Cup takes place on Saturday in front of an expectant Wallaby fanbase who will be desperate to see some sort of spark from a side that currently appears to be without an engine. These expectations have risen, particularly after Jones' comments:

“We’re an Australian team; we’re developing as a team. Can we put the Kiwis under pressure on Saturday? Yes,” Jones said.

“And I think some people are going to get a surprise. I can see the way you’re sitting here and thinking, ‘What’s this bloke talking about? How can this Australian team do it?’ The All Blacks have been fantastic for the first two games… but you’re still fans with keyboards, right? Nothing’s changed.”
