The Rugby Club Plays of the Week - RWC Week 3

The Rugby World Cup group stages are done and dusted. The tournament now hots up with the much anticipated Quarter Finals. Today's Plays of the Week from the Rugby Club brings us the best of the weeks gone by.

There's some scorchers in their Try of the Week nominations, starting with the Russians. It was their first ever World Cup, and they did themselves proud with a beauty of a try against Ireland.

Argentina's match winning try from Lucas Amorosino set up a brilliant conversion attempt and subsequent win against Scotland, and we get to enjoy it in Spanish. Sean Maloney, the man behind Plays of the Week, found Gethin Jenkins' try againt Nambia so good that he got a little flusterred, and called him Gareth. Save the hate mail, he's since assured me that it was the Rules to Rugby Union that got his head in a spin.

The Wallabies scored some fantastic tries too, none better than Adam Ashley-Cooper's. There's also the usual dose of big tackles and heavy collisions, including one below the belt.

Thanks as always to The Rugby Club on Fox Sports Australia. Enjoy.

No idea, but I'd say its something to do with the flash player on your side. Perhaps try reinstall/upgrade, then reboot or reload your browser. Shout if any further issues.

Yea that was one of my favourite highlights from that match. Conrad certainly knows how to tackle. I was very disappointed to see that poor old Harinordiquy was virtually abandoned by his team mates though. Most of them simply retreated with him rather than get in behind to stop the drive sooner!

Conrad Smith's tackle on Hairy Donkey - at about 1:50 - is a joy to watch. Nice to see that old-fashioned approach of hitting low, arms wrapped round the legs, pumping his own legs and driving the bastard back. I know he subsequently got some help from Offside Rich, which was useful because it stopped Harinordoquy offloading, but the intitial tackle by Smith is absolutely textbook.

Good show. The Spanish commentary was a nice touch. And the Jenkins try was a beaut.
