The three players Steve Borthwick expects to return to the England squad for Scotland

England had to fight extremely hard to come through as victors in yesterday’s Six Nations clash with Wales. Their Severn Bridge neighbours had the scoreline in their favour for much of the match, with England only regaining the advantage in the dying minutes.

England made life extremely hard for themselves after conceding one early try and receiving not one, but two yellow cards in quick concession. Even when they returned fire with a trademark Ben Earl finish, George Ford failed to add the extras after his run up was interrupted by charging Welsh players.

The men in white finally came through good with George Ford knocking over the winning penalty to take a 16-14 victory.

Speaking in the press conference afterwards, Steve Borthwick was pleased to confirm three players that he expected to be ready to return from injury.

Luke Cowan-Dickie, Manu Tuilagi and George Martin are all expected to return to the fray.

Cowan-Dickie will need to jump back into full form quickly if he is to disrupt the existing combination of Jamie George and Theo Dan. As captain, George is unlikely to be dropped, and Dan is a very impressive youngster currently making contributions off of the bench.

Tuilagi is expected to regain his place at inside centre, whilst George Martin is likely to take a spot on the bench for their clash in two weeks time against Scotland.
