The time Brian O'Driscoll pushed aside physios to make heroic cup final tackle

Back in 2011 Leinster and Ireland legend Brian O’Driscoll came up with a heroic piece of play in the Celtic League Grand Final at Thomond Park.

O’Driscoll was taken out by a cheap shot from Marcus Horan early on in the match and while he was down receive treatment from the physios, the Ireland centre dramatically jumped back to his feet to make another tackle.

Luckily the Leinster star was able to shake off the injury and went on to play the full 80, producing an iconic blind pass to Johnny Sexton on the wing in the second half.

In the end it was Munster who went on to win the game 19-9 and lift the trophy in front of a raucous home crowd in Limerick.

O’Driscoll retired in 2014 having earned 133 caps for Ireland and a further eight appearances for the British & Irish Lions across four separate tours.
