Springbok Rugby have put together the nominees for the Supersport Try of the Year Award for 2013. The list features some fantastic tries scored at Test, Super Rugby and Currie Cup level. The winner will be announced at a function on 12 February.

There are some brilliant tries featured in the video, which unfortunately starts quite abruptly for some reason and doesn't mention the try-scorers, but it's pretty easy to see who is who.

The first four are counter-attacking tries by the Springboks, scored by Zane Kirchner against Australia, Bryan Habana vs the All Blacks, Jean De Villiers against Wales and JP Pietersen against Scotland after a great bit of play by the outstanding Willie Le Roux.

Super Rugby kicks off on Feb 15th so join and make your picks in our Superbru pool!

The next four are from Super Rugby, featuring Jano Vermaak, Lwazi Mvovo, Pat Lambie and Riaan Smit. In the Currie Cup Rocco Jansen and Gio Aplon were both superb with great solo efforts.

The other big award to be decided soon is the SA Rugby Player of the Year, with Jean de Villiers, Bismarck du Plessis, Eben Etzebeth, Willie le Roux and Duane Vermeulen in the running. Young Player of the Year, Team of the Year, and Coach of the Year will also be announced. All awards»

UPDATE 12-01-2014 : Jean De Villiers' try against Wales was named Best Try

Which try would you say should be named as the best?

Agreed, the editing was awful for some reason. It was a great try

Bulls vs Kings. Length of the field, full width, offloading done right

This clip doesn't do the Kirchener try justice! The Boks had just scored a try after some decent forward play. From the kick off they mauled and looked like they were going for more of the same, then in a flash the ball was out on the right wing and dotted down! It gets my vote for being a team try!

Yep, too difficult, I can't pick a winner. But Willie le Roux having a hand in half of these, that's no coincidence.

I will say on the awards, I'm surprised Naka Drotske isn't on the coach of the year shortlist. The Cheetahs were outstanding in the super XV, as usual without a team full of internationals.

I'd have to give it to Aplon out of that lot, mesmeric hip movement to break the line and then again to tie the full back up in knots. Quite liked the Sharks first phase try too - excellent chip, deft pass and great gas.

    What more could you want?

Such quality. Absolutely love it. The Aplon try at the end was the best for me, because I can't resist a bit of individual genius, but there were also some wonderful team tries. I agree with anonymous no7, the one-handed pass try was pretty damn good too.

That cheetahs try with the one handed pass was amazing
