Three big bumps in latest edition of Smashed Em Bro!

Smashed em Bro in New Zealand have put together three big bumps from the last week in rugby, featuring two from the Dubai 7s and one from England's win over Australia at Twickenham. The latter is of flanker Michael Hooper getting down low to pick up and drive back a number eight.

While Nathan Hughes's body position was not ideal, it was a great effort by the far smaller Hooper to drive back the bigger man, who was playing in just his third Test for England.

As for the other two clips, keep an eye on this weekend's Cape Town leg of the World Sevens Series as there are sure to be many more great moments such as those.

    As appealing as some may find donkeyballs, no sucking has taken place, that I'm aware of.

    It was effectively a 4 or 5 second clip that was simply forgotten about at the time. Apologies, but thanks for your submission. If he does it again, we'll be sure to post both. Judging by his power, that seems likely, so there you go.

    Mr. Dump: I do a fair bit of video editing myself and if it's a case of there not being enough time to make these videos, I'd be more than happy to take up the TSRB mantle and contribute to the site :)

    Well I wouldn't go so far as "sux donkeyballs", and the southern hemisphere bias accusation is probably about as illogical as it is inaccurate...

    But, I must admit, as someone who'd been frequenting these esteemed pages for a number of years, I was more of a fan of the random clips of footage, mostly involving people being smashed, that you'd be unlikely to see elsewhere. That Tadgh Furlong beast-mode charge would surely fit in that category. I know a few decent sites where you can still find a steady flow of that type of clip, but I won't share them here, out of fierce, unwavering loyalty to Rugbydump.

    Trysavers & Rib-breakers was a particular highlight of the old RD; a masterpiece, no less, that ought to be resurrected. "The roughest, toughest, most badass rugby video series", according to TSRB #11. And who could argue with that!? By the way, I think Episode 11 (http://www.rugbydump.com/2010/05/1422/try-savers-rib-breakers-11) may have been the pinnacle of the series: it is hard to imagine a better use of Foo Fighters' The Pretender, and I still hear the Jim Telfer and Keith Wood speeches in my head every time I hear that tune.

    So what happened Mr Dump? Was a decision made that it was no longer possible to improve on #11? Definitely a challenge but I'm sure it can be done. Come on, it's what the fans want!

    It is nice to get the highlights and comedy stuff, and yes we do still get the odd smash now and again, and to be able to share one's own ill-informed opinions, but yeah a nice #TSRB would be a wonderful Christmas treat for us all wouldn't it!

    It is definitely worth a mention, but as Dan said, RD was a basement or garage site with a cult of followers and it could post what it liked. Nowadays its full of promotions, advertisements and permissions etc.

    ....I suppose the same could be said of rugby itself...

    But I agree. Hughes truly did grow into that game - just did a little fact check, he has 3 caps for England... so coming into a starting position (I assume it's his debut starter!) at 8 - which is not exactly a shy position, with only 2 caps, starting only last month... so to see his progress within 80 minutes of the game was excellent.

    He really got hammered early on, but rather than curling up and being worried about the next hit etc, he took advantage of it and learned from it. Currently Vunipola would still be my first choice for England 8, but it's probably safe to say that Hughes has the capability to nip right at Billy's heels.

    I'm guessing RD has grown to such a point where they can't just put up any video without permission from the rights owners. Most of the old content was just random stuff on Youtube. Nowadays it's all from broadcasters.

    I used to think Rugbydump was great but I've since realised it sux donkeyballs..
    Sooo biased to the southern hemisphere.

    Ire v NZ at the recent game in the Aviva Stadium in Ireland.
    At 11:24 of the first half Tadgh Furlong - Tighthead Prop for Ireland - goes into beast mode and swats away 3 New Zealand Defenders, including Brodie Retallick and sticking Kieran Read on his ass with one hand, all in succession (two of them former World Players of the year).
    I even went as far as submitting it to RD myself and got a reply, but do you think they would put it on their site???
    Disappointed at the blatant biased approach.
    It was outstanding work from a tighthead prop against the best team in the world, and against some of the best players in the world but not acknowledged for some bizarre reason.
    I used to love you RD for your outstanding approach to world rugby.
    Now I'm not so sure..

    So, logically, if you have ever missed a point scoring opportunity... you are basically Jonny Wilkinson and can say whatever the hell you like

    Agree with im1 here. The head clash was 'interesting' (wrong word), but it's not something that is 'fun' or 'awesome', that I'd often associate with "smashed 'em bro"....

    On the Hughes hit, he really needs to work on his body position overall, I genuinely thought he was going to be in for a try or at least get right in close until that brilliant tackle!

    Of course I'm questioning his body position due to the fact I'm actually a pro player and coach and knower of all things rugby.... but as an international I guess it's something he'll learn quick!
