Throwback To The Wildest Conversion In Rugby History

Argentinean and Leinster legend Felipe Contepomi was one of the very best playmakers in World Rugby back in the mid 2000s.

Having managed to keep one Jonathan Sexton at bay for quite some time at Leinster, the 87-cap Puma was instrumental in dragging Leinster to the top of the European Rugby pile.

Contepomi will forever be remembered fondly in Dublin for his exploits as both a player and later as a coach under Leo Cullen.

Now a member of the Pumas coaching staff which is spearheaded by former Wallabies and Leinster coach Michael Cheika. Contepomi will be looking to help his country once again achieve an incredible Rugby World Cup campaign.

Having made it all the way to the semi-finals the last time the tournament was held in France back in 2007, Los Pumas look to be a real threat once again.

Contepomi’s highlight reel is as long as just about anyone in the game, however this gem from a clash with rivals Connacht has got to be one of the best rugby videos on YouTube.

Staring into a familiar west coast of Ireland gale force, Contempomi lined up a routine kick at goal.

What followed was one of Rugby’s funnier moments as the ball came back just as quickly as it left his boot!
