Wales’ Player Of The Year Set To Leave Welsh Rugby Amidst Contract Embargo Chaos

According to reporting by WalesOnline, Welsh star Will Rowlands could be set to depart Welsh Rugby at the end of the season.

Currently in the in midst of their worst run of form for quite some time, Welsh Rugby have been under immense pressure as of late.

Copping criticism from all angles including former players and coaches, the WRU have been blasted for not bringing through a new wave of talent.

Should their top crop of current players begin to move on then it would be a very damning statement.

WalesOnline have reported that the primary issue has been a frustration that is growing amongst players as the four professional regions cannot offer new contracts due to an embargo that prohibits them from offering contracts for next season.

It is believed that Bath are topping the list of suitors for the thirty-one-year-old Rowlands, should the Welsh Professional Rugby Board not be able to secure his signature.

The West Country outfit are in the process of rebuilding their squad and structures under new Director of Rugby Johan van Graan.

Signing a player of Rowlands quality would be a huge coup for Bath whilst being a devastating blow for an ever improving Dragons side and Welsh Rugby as a whole.
