Wallabies hooker shows fly half qualities to set up cracker in Canberra

Brumbies and Wallabies hooker Folau Fainga’a set up a stunning early try against Melbourne Rebels on Saturday from a clever lineout play.

The hosts had an attacking lineout in the opening minutes in Canberra and Fainga’a played a key role in the move which saw winger Andy Muirhead run over the line unopposed. 

The Wallaby front-rower took the ball at first receiver and put a lovely disguise on the pass to feed Muirhead on his inside.

Fainga’a celebrated as soon as he made the pass and he got on the scoresheet himself just before half time to help the Brumbies to a 31-23 win at the GIO Stadium.
