Wasps youngster lights up Bath showdown with man of the match performance

Wasps winger Paolo Odogwu starred in Friday night's Premiership clash against Bath with a brace of tries and four clean line breaks.

The 23-year-old took both of his tries well in the second half at The Rec and was awarded man of the match for his all-round performance which contributed to Wasps' 44-52 win.

Probably the biggest highlight of Odogwu's game was the break he made to set up Tom Cruse's try in the 19th minute from deep inside the Wasps half.

Odogwu was fed the ball by Lima Sopoaga and broke the defensive line to run 40 metres down field and set up Wasps' second try of the match.

Wasps director of rugby Lee Blackett was delighted with his performance but insisted Odogwu is best suited at outside centre.

Blackett said: "I personally feel 13 is his best position where he's been really effective but we've put him on the wing the past couple of games due to injuries and I think he's found his way into those games.

"Paolo's always got the x-factor in attack but he's just struggled to get enough involvement, and if we can get him that level of involvement then he'll produce the quality."
