In modern rugby, the game is awash with gadgets and technology to make training more efficient and specific. It seems this was not the case for a French side in a time before colour TV was even invented.
In a video which the rugby purists will adore - a rugby team in France are seen running through walls of tyres and scrummaging against what many would describe as a metal cage.
The clank of shoulders against metal, is not the most pleasing of sounds!
Nevertheless, the footage is brilliantly captivating and a world away from what modern rugby teams use today.
One has to wonder how the current French side would fair using these methods of training!
