The Melbourne Rebels were looking for redemption as they hosted the Chiefs in topsy turvy affair.
Coming in on the back of 71 – 28 trouncing at the hands of the Auckland Blues the week before, the home side had plenty of work to do.
With just twenty seconds left on the clock, the Rebels looked set to record a shock victory as they held on to 30 – 26 lead.
Warren Gatland’s side wouldn’t be denied as replacement prop Ollie Morris showed his power as he carried several defenders over the line with him. With it came heart break for the Rebels as they were pipped 33 – 30.
Despite there being plenty of highlight reel moments on the field of play it was Chiefs second row Naitoa Ah Kuoi who caught the fans attention with his hilarious post-match interview.
The skillful second row was being interviewed as the player of the match following yet another good performance that will have All Black selectors feeling very good about their options ahead of Ireland’s three test tour.
Unfortunately for the Rebels the loss now sees them firmly cemented in the bottom quarter of the table with only the Western Force (who have a game in hand) behind them in terms of Australian teams.
For his part Ah Kuoi left fans online in stitches with many praising him for sticking to his own personality whilst avoiding the boring coach speak that fans have become accustomed to hearing.
