WATCH: Epic touchline conversion from Tighthead seals the deal

Applications to the front row union rarely require "Must be able to nail a touchline conversion”.

This may be about to change thanks to Admiral Welsh League side Forgeside RFC’s Connor Griffiths.

Playing out the final game of their Division 3 East D season against rivals Tredegar RFC. Forgeside found themselves 15 – 0 before a frantic comeback capped with a last gasp try saw them level the scores at 15 – 15.

With their regular goal kicker Corey Watkins unavailable and with no other specialists on the pitch, Griffiths stepped up looking to cap an already epic comeback.

To add to the complexity of the kick, the ball was spotted near to the right-hand touchline on the 22m line making the angle that much tighter for a right footed kicker.

The pressure was certainly on for Griffiths who had missed a previous conversation from closer in. Taking a deep breath in before moving five steps back and two the left the giant Tighthead took aim before coolly approaching the ball.

With a smooth strike that Neil Jenkins would’ve been proud of, Griffiths slotted the kick through the uprights before being flooded by his teammates celebrations.

Whilst the celebrations were undoubtedly in full swing for Griffiths and his teammates, Twitter was abuzz with the joy at seeing the burly prop proof that the big boys have skill too.
