Former Wallabies star Israel Folau scored a brace of tries this weekend on his return to rugby union with NTT Shining Arcs in the Japan Rugby League One.
The 32-year-old joined the Japanese side from Super League team Catalan Dragons in 2021 having had his Rugby Australia contract terminated in 2019 for his statements on homosexuality and same-sex marriage.
The full back was widely regarded as the best in the game prior to 2019 but controversy follows Folau due to his religious beliefs, however his performance on Saturday helped his new club to a 23-24 win.
