WATCH: Ford nails ridiculous 50/22 kick from his own FIVE-metre line

Leicester fly-half George Ford pulled off a ridiculous 50/20 from his own five-metre line during Saturday's Premiership game against Northampton Saints.

The England playmaker caught the ball just five metres from his own try line and called a mark but while the Saints defence started to shape for the kick, Ford saw space in the back field and went long.

The 28-year-old put his boot through the ball and smashed it deep into the opposition half at Franklin's Gardens and the ball bounced into touch inside Northampton's 22-metre line.

Under the new ruling, which states that possession is retained when a ball is kicked from inside the attacking side's half and bounces into touch in the opposition 22-metre line, meant that Ford's monster kick was rewarded with an attacking lineout early in the game.

In the end Leicester won the game 26-55 to make it six wins from six to maintain their position at the top of the Premiership.

Ford has earned 76 caps for England since making his debut in 2014 and accumulated more than 100 appearances for the Tigers having re-joined the club in 2017.
