Watch: Gloucester score INCREDIBLE team try

Going into the final round of the Premiership, the cherry and whites knew they could still make playoffs with a win against Saracens if Northampton lost to Newcastle.

From the first minute, Gloucester played like a team who had nothing to lose and put on a show for the Shed faithful.

They went on to beat the three time European champions 54-7 but the result was meaningless for their playoff hopes due to Saint's win against Newcastle.

Despite this, Gloucester will be incredibly proud of their performance, with tries from their infamous driving maul as well as some brilliant back line moves.

The pick of the bunch came in the 67th minute as the home team executed a perfect counter attack.

Fullback Carreras made a perfect tackle against Jackson Wray who split the ball in the process. Good hands fed the ball to Adam Hastings who then pulled off an offload of the season contender.

Gloucester's back row forward Reid then kicked the ball through allowing supporters to see Louis Rees-Zammit at full flight to chase it down and score.

In the other game that mattered for playoff contention, Northampton Saints scored some great tries of their own as they stormed their way to a 65-26 victory.

Despite the one sided scoreline, Newcastle started the second half brilliantly and put pressure on Saints but discipline ended up costing the Falcons as they received both a yellow and red card during the encounter.

After a jam packed final weekend of Gallagher Premiership rugby the playoffs are now officially set.

First place Leicester will face Northampton at Welford Road and Saracens will play Harlequins.

Two derbies for the two semi finals, quite the treat for rugby fans.
