WATCH: Hilarious Erasmus bulldog Tweet torments English fans

Suspended Springboks director of rugby Rassie Erasmus has made a tongue-in-cheek dig at English fans over Twitter.

On Sunday Erasmus posted a video of him teasing his English Bull Dog Frank calling him a ‘cheat’ and a ‘bully’ while he played with him in bed.

Erasmus is currently serving a two-month ban from all rugby activities as punishment for the video he released during this year’s British & Irish Lions tour in which he criticised the match officials.

Following the inquiry, referee Nic Berry, who was on the end of Erasmus' criticism, said: "Needless to say, the whole situation has been an extremely difficult time for my family and I.

“The public attack on my integrity and character is not something that should be tolerated in any workplace.

“I feel that Mr Erasmus engaged in a character assassination of me on social media. I have spent many years trying to build my reputation as an international referee and in the course of his video which was posted online, Mr Erasmus has caused it immeasurable damage.

“My reputation throughout the rugby community has suffered immeasurably. His actions are against everything our game stands for and I feel it’s important to take a stand against such behaviour.”

With more time to kill at home Erasmus has been regularly Tweeting about both the Springboks and his personal life and interacting with his 65k followers.

The South African led the Springboks to World Cup glory in 2019 and a series win over the Lions in 2021 making him a legend of the game. Erasmus was also quick to celebrate his team’s rise to number one in the World Rugby rankings over the weekend.
