WATCH: Inspiring footage as Fatialofa walks for the first time since awful injury

Worcester’s Michael Fatialofa has been filmed walking for the first time as he recovers from a devastating spinal injury earlier in the season.

The 27-year-old was stretchered off the pitch against Saracens in early January with a serious spinal injury which left him paralysed from the neck down.

He was diagnosed with a spinal contusion at London’s St Mary’s Hospital which required surgery and the New Zealander was yesterday filmed walking unaided for the first time since the incident.

Having spent three weeks in intensive care Fatialofa was transferred to a spinal injuries unit where he has shown incredible signs of recovery.

Fatialofa represented the Hurricanes 38 times before joining Worcester in 2018, his continued recovery is an inspiration to the rugby world and our thoughts are with him at this difficult time.
