WATCH: Ireland lock red card leads to heavy defeat

Ireland U20s lock Ryan Baird received a red card against Australia for a high tackle on Wallaby fly half Will Harrison.

After consulting with the TMO the referee said Baird made forceful contact with Harrison’s head, leading to his permanent dismissal after 20 minutes.

Baird’s dismissal cost Ireland, who lost 45-17 to the Wallabies in the World Rugby U20 Championship in Argentina.

    Update....and he’s reinstated...should have been a yellow. Ref thinks he can’t do more as it was split second decision...or says I had the benefit of 5 angles and still got the decision wrong. Please take note and ensure ref gets no more game past under tens mini-rugby.
